අප වනයේ වෙසෙන්නන් වෙමු˜ මව

 කුමරිය පිළිතුරු දුන්නාය. 

ප්‍රධානියා ඔවුනට ඇඳුම් දෙන ලෙසට තම සේවකයන්ට උපදෙස් දුන්නේය. ඉන්පසු අමුත්තන් සඳහා ගසකින් කඩාගත් පත්‍ර මත දමා ආහාර දීමට සැලස්විය. මෙම කොළ ඔවුනට දුන්පසු රනින් කල භාජන බවට පත්වීම වැනි ප්‍රාතිහාර්යය සිදුවූ බව සදහන් වේ. පුදුමයට පත් වූ කුමාරයා “තොප කවුරුන්ද,” කියා ඇසීය.

මව් කුමරිය තමන්ගේ සත්‍යය  විස්තරය ඔහුට පැහැදිලි කලාය. එම කුමාරයා, මව් කුමරිය තම නැන්දනියගේ දියණිය බව වටහා ගෙන, ඇය සමග වගු නුවර වෙත ගොස් එහි ජීවත්විය. (මෙලෙස තමා මහ රජුගේ දූ කුමරිය බොහෝ කලකට පසු මුණගැසී දෙමව්පියන්ට නොදන්නවා සිටින්නේ සමහරවිට ඇය පිළිබඳව ඔවුන්ගේ කෝපය ඒතාක් අලුත් තිබුණ නිසා වන්නට පුළුවන)
මේ අතර සිංහයා ආපසු ලෙනට පැමිණ, ඔහුගේ පවුලේ සාමාජිකයින් නොමැති බව දැක, බලවත් ශෝකයට පත්විය. ඌ ආහාර ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කලේය. ඌගේ දරුවන් සොයා, අසල ගම්මාන වලට පැමිණෙන්නට පටන් ගත්තේය. මෙම ගම්මාන වල වැසියන් භීතියට පත්ව, රජුට මේ පිලිබඳව දන්වා සිටියහ. 

“මහ රජුනි, සිංහයෙකු ඔබගේ රාජ්‍ය විනාශ කරයි. එයින් අපව වහාම බේරා දෙනු මැනව.” ඔවූහූ පැවසූහ. 

එහෙත් රජුට සිංහයා එලවා දැමීමට, හැකි පුද්ගලයෙකු සොයා ගැනීමට නොහැකි වූ නිසා, ඒ සඳහා යැවීමට, පුද්ගලයෙකු සොයා ගැනීමට, අලියෙකුගේ පිටේ මසුරන්  දහසක් තබා,

 “සිංහයා අල්ලා රැගෙන එන කෙනෙකුට, මෙම මසුරන්  දහස ත්‍යාග වනු ඇත.”

යනුවෙන් ප්‍රසිද්ධ කලේය.

 කිසිවෙකු ඉදිරිපත් නොවුනු නිසා රජු තෑගි මුදල 2000 සහ 3000 දක්වා ක්‍රමයෙන් වැඩි කලේය. සිංහබාහු මේ සඳහා ඉදිරිපත් වීමට උත්සාහ කලද ඔහුගේ මව මුල් දෙවතාවේදී ඔහුට ඉදිරිපත් වීමට ඉඩ දුන්නේ නැත. තෙවැනි වර ඔහු මවට නොදන්වා ඉදිරිපත් වී තමන්ගේම පියා මරා දැමීමට පොරොන්දු වී, රන් කහවනු 3000 ලබා ගත්තේය. 

රාජ පුරුෂයෝ තරුණයා රජු බැහැ දැකීමට රැගෙන ගියහ. 

“ඔබ සිංහයා විනාශ කලහොත් මම ඔබට මගේ රාජ්‍යම දෙන්නෙමි,” රජු ඔහුට පොරොන්දු විය. ( මේ තරම් සුළු ප්‍රශ්නයක් නිරාකරණය කර දුනහොත් මුළු රාජ්‍යයම ලබා දීමට පොරොන්දු වීම පුදුම සහගතය. කැරැල්ලක් ඇති වී එය මැඩ පැවැත්වීමට උත්සාහ කරන්නේ දැයි සිතන්නටත් පුළුවන)

සිංහබාහු දුනු ඊතල ගෙන ගල් ගුහාව වෙත ගියේය. ඔහු දැක සිංහයා ඔහුට ඇති ආදරය නිසා ඔහු වෙතට පැමිණෙන්නට පටන් ගත්තේය. කුමරු සිංහයා වෙත ඊතලයක් විද්දේය. හාස්කම් කිහිපයක් සිදුවීමෙන් පසු  විදින ලද ඊතලය සිංහයාගේ ශරීරය පසාරු කරගෙන ගොස් ඌ මරණයට පත් කලේය. සිංහබාහු කේශර සහිත සිංහ ඔලුව රැගෙන ආපසු අගනුවරට පැමිණියේය. ඔහු ආපසු අගනුවරට පැමිණෙන විට මහ රජු මියගොස් සත් දිනක් ගතවී තිබිණ.

"We are forest dwellers" replied the mother princess.

The lord  instructed his servants to give them clothes.  Then the guests were made to eat on leaves plucked from a tree.  It is said that after these leaves were given to them, the miracles like  leaves  turning into pots made of gold took place.  “Who are you?” asked the astonished prince.

The mother princess explained the truth to him.  The prince realized that the mother princess was his aunt's daughter, and went with her to city of Vagu, the capital, and lived there. ( it is strange that this Prince he is keeping the finding of the princess from the royal family because she was their long lost daughter)

Meanwhile, the lion returned to the den and was deeply saddened to find his family members absent.  He refused to eat and drink.  He started coming to  nearby villages in search of his children.  The inhabitants of these villages were frightened and informed the king about this.

“Great king, a lion is destroying your kingdom.  Save us immediately from it.”  They said.

But the king could not find a person who could drive away the lion, so he proclaimed a  royal massage  to find a person, placed a thousand gold coins  on the back of an elephant,

  "To one who catches the lion and brings him, this reward will be his "

  He said.

  As no one came forward, the king gradually increased the gift amount to 2000 and 3000.  Although Sinhabahu tried to take up the challenge, his mother did not allow him to accept twice. Third time he came forward without his mother's knowledge and promised to kill his own father, and obtained 3000 gold coins.

  The courtiers took the young man to see the king.

  "If you destroy the lion, I will give you my kingdom," the king promised him. ( Offering such unbelievable reward for a minor task like that appears strange. Probably it was sort of revolt against the kingdom)

  Singhabahu took the bow and arrows and went to the rock cave.  Seeing him, the lion started coming towards him out of love for him.  The prince shot an arrow at the lion.  After several miracles, the arrow pierced the lion's body and killed him.  Sinhabahu returned to the capital with the hairy lion's head.  When he returned to the capital, the great king had been dead for seven days.
