living in Singapore - visiting Malaysia

I thought of writing about one of my hassle-free bus ride experience during my recent visit to Johore Bahru, Malaysia from Singapore. Of course, it was before covid. Well, I was planning to leave around 6.30am to spend time as much as I can in JB. Unfortunately, I overslept and woke up a bit late. But I didn't panic as I didn't have to catch a flight moreover there are so many buses to go to JB during the day. I got ready and took the MRT line to go to where buses were. As I can remember I had to pay only 1sgd for my 45mins to 1-hour bus ride as I didn't have Ringgit (Malaysia currency) in hand. There were 2 stops during my bus ride to Malaysia one was at Singapore Immigration and the 2nd and the last stop in Malaysia Immigration. If I elaborate when I got into the but I had to get off from the bus to pass Singapore Immigration and when I was done with the immigration there were many buses waiting

for us. At this point you don't have to wait for the same bus which you took, you are free to get into any of the buses and you don't have to pay a cent as you have already paid for the entire tour. While I was on the bus I can remember very clearly passing a bridge that connects Singapore and Malaysia. As I was traveling for the first time I felt a bit excited and happy. Luckily I took a window seat if now I don't think I will have the same excitement to write this blog.

As I mentioned earlier I reached the last and the 2nd stop on my bus tour. I was shocked by seeing the massive queue for the Malaysia Immigration. I think I was standing there for 30mins or more. But I didn't feel tired as I was observing others. I felt Malaysians are very easy going people. And friendly too. One more thing I noticed there were many Singaporean were queueing as far as I know everything is JB is cheaper than in Singapore so Singaporeans tend to go to JB for Beauty Salons etc.

After the Immigration process, I walked out to take a taxi. There were plenty and cheap too. I got off at my hotel in which I spent my weekend. This is my bus ride experience from Singapore to Johore Bahru, Malaysia.

  2. I have travelled few times from KL to Singapore and vice versa by bus. Total tour takes about 5-6 hrs and quite nice and comfortable journey. There are buses with more facilities than flights, eg: wifi, tv, massage, food.. :)
